Paul E. Leimkuehler was born and raised in the city of Cleveland, Ohio. Paul was the oldest of his three siblings, Fern, Wilma and Roy. His parents, Elmer and Clara, raised him with humble beginning and encouraged him to pursue sports. Paul graduated from West Tech High School and attended Ohio State University. He worked as a research engineer at Tinnerman Products Co. and in 1940, he married Catherine Cawley, who later became a President of the OALMA Ladies Auxiliary. The couple had four children, Paulette, Jon, Bob and Bill, who have all been actively involved in the prosthetic and orthotics field. In 1978, he retired from the business and sold the company to his sons. Paul Leimkuehler passed away in 1993 and is buried in Lakewood Park Cemetery.
